... stop for me is Villa Carlotta which is a villa and a lovely garden. 9 euro. Back in the boat to Bellagio. Another beautiful town. I have lunch here. I have a buffet which is disappointing. You actually have to use a microwave to heat things if you want them hot. Didn't realise this to start with. You can go back 3 times (primo, secondi and dessert). Cost 15euro including a glass of wine. Back on the boat ...

... That seems a bit odd. Not sure where the sand would come from. Probably just my eyes. We pass through lots of little villages which are very agricultural. It's so much more satisfying going by train than flying. It's not a cheap way to travel though. A Eurail pass would be the way to go if you're moving around a lot. It is almost goodbye Italy, for now ...

... cafe to settle in for a nice pasta lunch. This was followed by a wander around Varenna, up into the town square and the church. And then to a tiny little beach. Back to the ferry and then back to Bellagio for a lovely dinner made up of sensational pork sausages, meats, olive and cheese from the little deli at the end of our lane way.

Our final day in Bellagio was a chance to really potter around a bit like the locals. A slow start ...

... a scooter, an old guy falling in the middle of the street with no helmet and getting back up … I mean wow, the death rate must be high! In the cities, like in Kuta, they do wear helmets because the police roams around. I would not dare to drive there, its too crazy for me!

People constantly ask me: "how was your trip" and all I can answer is: "it was good". The truth is, it was an experience of a lifetime and I experienced so many things that I ...
