The more Mary and I explored Verona the more surprises we found. As I mentioned last time we had both been craving sushi for several days so we decided to try a restaurant called "Ikai", which after a lot of research seemed to garner nothing but really good reviews. All of the research we did said that reservations were recommended so we made ours at 7:30, early by Italian standards but we didn’t know if sushi ran on a different timetable. We went to see two churches today, Il Duomo and Chiesa di San Fermo that were both the site of ...

A travel blog entry by southernsun on Jun 09, 2015

Stopped at St Lucia airfield, a lovely private grass airstrip, for fuel and to have a new set of brushes fitted to the propellor pitch control, by Luigi, the aero maintenance engineer on site. The job turned into a bigger one as the pitch control motor had actually died, so he arranged spare parts and we are fitting up together, but with afternoon weather building, this ...

... whenever you leave and collect upon return, because they always seem to remember who you are. They brought us up to our room, which they had upgraded for us at no additional cost, and it was beautiful, even the bathroom is pretty big by Italy standards.

Now lest you think all the surprises were that superficial, the best surprise was still to come. Verona herself. We headed out to do what I imagine everyone does first when ...
