          Goodbye Andorra. Hello SNOW!!!!

The rain last night came down in stair rods, we had music playing almost at full volume and could just hear it, it finally stopped at about 2am and what a relief. This morning is bright and clear and the sun is beginning to caress the mountain tops above the city and dry things out. Amazingly, the camp site is almost dry and you wouldn't know that we must have had a good 2-3 inches of rain. Do you remember Jayne wanted a run around on ...

We have really enjoyed our stay in Andorra La Vella and this morning we walked into town for the last time. Today rain is threatened by mid afternoon, so we have taken advantage of this and have put the washing in so it will be completed on our return. First we went into a shop that sells bike racks, no one spoke English but we worked out measurements and pointed to heads to show we'd ...

Decided to walk into the old town this morning and took Tess with us. She's getting used to walking on a lead now with lots of people, still not sure about traffic and bridges, but she walks to heel and just needs a little reassurance every so often. So different from the cliff top walks she's been used to, especially today, as it's very busy here. Very different for us too, no medieval town and little roads and alleys. It's makes a ...

Once again a beautiful clear blue sky and the sun is lovely and warm, breakfast over and we are off. The roads are quiet as usual and we decide to take the motorway to speed things up a little as it should take about 2.5 hours. It is difficult to describe the incredible vista that awaited us round one of the bends, there in all back lit splendour were the Pyrenees with Andorra somewhere in amongst them. Pretty soon we leave the flat plateaux and start ...

From Cadaques to the cowshed at La Seu d'Urgell

... look at Besalu, a once important regional town with remnant walls, ramparts and a fantastic fortified medieval bridge. Another sad story of a once thriving Jewish community that fell to persecution. It is now a very relaxed cafe lined place basking in pleasant sunshine, belatedly acknowledging those whose lives were blighted by madder times.

On we went through mountain beauty to Ripoll, a rather ungarnished looking town where we sought lunch. Not ...
