... acrobatic illusionist and his wife – pretty lame actually although one of their illusions was quite amazing. We came out of the theatre just before nine – just in time to form a team of four people and play a game of "name that tune" in the piano bar. The theme this evening was “The Beatles” and Suzanne and I together with a couple from Lexington Kentucky tied for first (ll out of 12 correct) and ...

The start of Sharkita's big adventure!!

And at long last we are on our way ... can't quite believe we are actually starting this journey after all the work, planning, talking .... And we know we've been to San Telmo many times before but this time it is different!! And so good to have Simon's old friends Max & Linsey onboard - after all they were really the people responsible for him ending up in Port d'Andratx to begin with.

Dancing in Palma

... out. It takes awhile to moor the yacht stern to, (the back end up against the dock) and to get out all the fenders (large air filled pads that keep the boats from rubbing up against each other and to setup the passarelle (like a long plank that is motorized with hand rails on each side). By the time we were able to go to shore we were dressed and ready. Several of the crew members had been here before so they were our guides to finding the dance clubs ...

Another idylic Hollywood set

We arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.

The #2 rated best bare beach in the world.

... us off and then returned to the yacht go continue on their way. Usually the crew will setup an area on the beach with a canopy, beverages, and a few lounge chairs, but since none of that would fit on the heli, it was just us a change of close, beach towels a few drinks and sunscreen.

We weren’t nearly as hyper on the beach today as we were in Formentera. Mallorca - An Isle of Contrasts (to put it nicely)

... found the dining hall and luckily caught the last half hour of the dinner buffet. Our room had inclusive half pension, which means breakfast and dinner were included. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. There was a lot of selection, but it was obvious the food was made to cater to a vary bland palette (i.e. British!). However, the fruit was delicious, especially the plums. We took some back to our room almost every evening for late ...

... had to fight the urge to eat the salty bacon or jamon, as they call it here. But the feeling passes quite quickly and I am usually quite proud of myself for adhering to my decision, even in times of great temptation. We zoomed home and ate a light dinner of Romys delicious salad. I asked her to show me the way to make the mouthwatering dressing that she puts on it so I can duplicate it later. I love how she takes such care in choosing quality ingredients and not using shortcuts in ...
