Yesterday we had booked a tour to Verona, but because Al was heavy with cold we refund, c'est la vie. Today we did go to public transport. Al was feeling better in the morning, but got worse as the day rolled on. It seems Verona's claim to fame is the Romeo, Juliet story. All of the group were tired after the long walks of the last two days so it was quiet time before our first stop. This was our first stop at a rest stop built over the road. I found it novel but it appears to be common, having seen ...

... frescos inside are in fabulous condition. On all the walls they look like they are heavily embossed but on close inspection they are dead flat. On the way back to the boat we happened upon some medieval games that were being enacted in a park. Lots of people in period costume and most heavily armored. They had been in Mantova for a 4 day festival. The boat holds 21 guest with 4 crew
