Azrou, Morocco
Caitlin and I are still getting used to the environment here and learning how to navigate the Medinas in all the different cities we visit. This weekend we left on Friday after having lunch with Salima and her 6 sisters! They have a beautiful house in Saleh, right across the river from Rabat. The interior design of the house is beautiful and reminds me of a those palaces you read about in Arabian Nights. Apparently their father was an architect and designed their house. Anyhow, lunch consiste...
Tetouan, Morocco fatima2002We've found this cool forest where monkeys are feed by humans, sounds silly but it's kind of funny to see a monkey drinking from a bottle of water. As all touristic places in Morocco, tourism is exploted and you can find people selling peanuts and fruit to feed the monkeys. We got some peanuts but this other guy got peaches, since monkeys aren't stupids they didn't even take a look to our nice peanuts and we eneded eating the peanuts. That night we stayed in Azrou, not too interseting, but di...
Azrou, Morocco l-lightningThe road through the Atlas Mountains was ragged and bumpy. I don't think I’ll ever be able to find mountains as beautiful of those back home. I think it may be the lack of snow or rather any greenery at all besides these evil little grass bushes that will slice you ...
Atlas Mountains, Meknès-Tafilalet, Morocco lenahoffWe hit the big city of Agadir, it's a bit of a big hotel kinda of place. Big, sandy, crescent shaped beach which nobody was using at the time we were there. Eddie found a great room at a fantastic price, pool, restaurant, balcony all for 38 dollars a night. We found the towna bit quite, for example ...
Agadir, Morocco eddieandlynn... as I paddled, so empowered (and can you believe brunette me managed to get blond highlights from all the sun??!!) I surfed alone, I surfed with others; I liked it best with others because it felt good to see someone smile so bright when they caught a wave.
--There were moments when I would be floating on my board, or having a sunset swim...I would look around me at the raw Moroccan ...
... way I spent this day. Of course, I swam a lot... The Ocean is such a paradise... When you enter the water, it feels very cold, but as you enter farther, you got used to it and it feels normal. The Waves! They are really big, it's so fun to greet them with your body... Cool water brings a new kind of freshness to you... And then, when you go to the beach, the water becomes more and more warm, and closer to the beach it ...
Agadir, Morocco qbcleThat is a day full of work so we got up early and at 9 o'clock were already leaving for our first visit.
Ramada Almohades 4* - Not bad... Tidy, small and green... Also old, and it really looks rather old... But not a bad choice all in all=)
Sofitel Agadir 5* - Veeeery good hotel, great place, beach under the window, grandiose pool, lots of services, cooool=) But every day staying in this hotel should be payed $100 as a deposite (it ...
After a very long flight, disappointment in Meknes and miloes of driving through northern Morocco it was time to stop and spend the night. Zaid was a good interpreter-guide. He went into the hotel and made the arrangements to spend the night. My room was very nice with a double bed and full bath. It was small but quaint. The hotel ...
Azrou, Morocco gloshiv... the front seat, plus the driver. Cheap but not very comfortable, though it ensures close contact to the locals. It was already late and after waiting a long time, I ended up buying three seats and off we went. It was pitch dark, nobody spoke a word and there I was in Morocco. One of the other passengers knew exactly where my hotel was but then he didn't, so I ended up gone way too far in a ...
Agadir, Morocco sabaidiiAt check out time, our intestines and ourselves walk out of the hotel and star our way to Meknes. (Parking in the street with one of the "guardians"= 40Dh for 2 days. We were not able to negotiate that. Just out of Fes there is a mall (Marjane) and we stop to buy some aquarius which is wonderful to rehydrate. No food yet for me, my intestines still don't want it. The journey to Meknes is short, about an hour. We park by a market (another "car guardian" but we say we ...
