Getting wet in Corfu

... of the Paleo Frourio, an old Venetian fort. That was pretty cool. Then, late this afternoon we went through the Archaeological Museum. We didn't spend much time here since it was close to closing time and we were all tired from the water park.

That evening though we ate at our first authentic Greek taverna, we found one playing Greek music ...

... and not at all a balcony. Hence needing help climbing.

And then. There are all those people that just annoy the **** out of me. I'm telling you what, "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us." is crossing my mind about 20 times a day. It's like everybody wants to be the first one on the bus, the first one off the bus, the first one in the buffet line, the first one in the signup line, the first one... you get the picture. I keep ...

Olivia has a pair of Dior (????????) sunglasses now for the mere price of $14NZ, so many terrible take offs here.

Next day - Santorini. Opened the cabins curtains to see a sheer cliff with a town perched at the top. The only way to get up was a zig zagging path or a cable car. We were ferried by boats to shore and Chris started making noises about walking up. Robyn ...

The Boat to Italy

... Everyone on the boat was being sick in the toilets in the sick bags it was vile and even the staff on the boat were at it. Anyways was looking at Ian and he had gone a funny colour next minute he grabbed the sick bag and was really ill. I could not help it but was laughing while I was rubbing his back but the noices where making me and Katy ill couldnt look at him. We finally docked at Bari a whole 14 hours later and I swear I am never ever doing a boat ride like that again.

Near Konispol to Saranda

... out as I offered him to join me for a drink "No! No drink! I must go now!" stern yet smiling he walked away, excusing the waiter's bad joke about his small handbag being a bomb with the words: "these are merely the means I use for my work". The man left me with some queer philosophical statements, such as "it is difficult to be with in your own self while being with others", using examples form the Jewish Diaspora.

Bunkers and Butrint

... an early start. However, getting off the bus in Saranda around ten, I see that there are only two buses a day to Gjirokastra (though it's less than two hours away) and I have already missed both of them. Uh-oh. I try not to let this worry me as I board the bus for Butrinti. No going back now. Legend has it that Butrinti was founded by Priam's son Helenus after he fled Troy, and that Aeneas stopped here on his way to Italy, as is mentioned in Virgil's ...

Villa life on a burning island

... British people where shops advertised B&H cigarettes and the News of the World. At one of these we stopped at a supermarket and bought provisions that we packed into the compartment under the seat of the bike. As we came around the eastern side, ash began to fall from the sky and we realised that the fire, which had been burning far below us when viewed from the monastery, was now burning above us. A helicopter swooped low with a large bucket hanging pendulously ...
