... the castle, where I stop for coffee. It's very steep and my legs are feeling it. I carry on and eventually come out at tiny little lakeside town. It's a beautiful (though a bit difficult) walk with magnificent views of the lake from up high. More photos. Back down lakeside, I head back towards Varenna. I stop at Hotel Villa Cipressi for late lunch. Spaghetti with duck ragu and porcini mushrooms. ...

I'm on the move again today. Metro to Termini train station and fast train to Milan at 11am. Takes 3 hours. Speeds of around 248 kms an hour. My ears keep popping when we go through the tunnels. The terrain is very similar to down south. Rolling hills etc., with flat plains in between. I can't see so many olive trees though and there's a lot more grape vines. It still all looks very beautiful. Can't say for sure but the soil looks a lot more sandier than ...

This morning we said goodbye to our beautiful Castle hideaway & hit the Autostrada. First stop was Vicolungo The Style Outlet Shopping Mall to spend the last of those pesky Euro's! Then we thought we would just have a drive around the villages in Lombardy around the lake Lago Maggiore. It was just beautiful. Especially the village if Angera. I could ...

... cafe to settle in for a nice pasta lunch. This was followed by a wander around Varenna, up into the town square and the church. And then to a tiny little beach. Back to the ferry and then back to Bellagio for a lovely dinner made up of sensational pork sausages, meats, olive and cheese from the little deli at the end of our lane way.

Our final day in Bellagio was a chance to really potter around a bit like the locals. A slow start ...

... for an indoor water park which was perfect because it was raining on Friday. After queueing for up to 90 minutes per ride in Spain, we pretty much had the run of the place here which was awesome. There was also a wave pool, outdoor heated balcony pool and a heap of other stuff with about 20 people there. So Awesome. Our final night in Lugano was celebrated with Pizza in the town centre. We have loved this place so much - we're so glad we changed our plans and came up ...
