    ... where I sat for another half an hour soaking in the atmosphere, relieving the worries of my real life – a life that’s full of worries, partially completed reports, unfinished dreams and uneventful pasts – and tried to stay in this dream of my weekend ride.     ... a mountain of supporting documents and take a massive hike across the city to the south. We really didn't know for sure if they would accept our application so we were both feeling a bit tense. We need not have worried, we handed in our documents, no questions asked (paying a massive fee for the privilege) and were told to come back the following week. It didn't mean the visa was granted but we were well on the way!
