      ... with 1200 meters of elevation gain. This is just entirely too daunting to consider and in my mind could jeopardize the rest of the trip. Fortunately someone has developed an aubergue (hostel), in recent years, at kilometre 8 after 600 meters of elevation gain. When we discovered this, we booked into this place; which went a long way to making us feel much more comfortable about undertaking the start of our journey.

      ... to fit all of our stuff into him. Either my packing is getting worse or we have all managed to sneak in some more shopping along our travels. We certainly appreciated the only 1 hr travel time this change over which equates to about 8 stink bombs from Jesse's ever more toxic derrière. There must be some really interesting gear in the lasagne's over here. Next changeover is a 5+ hour drive to Barcelona, that doesn't even bear thinking about.

      ... takes you only to the spa, haircutting and fitness areas. So you can go to whatever appointment you have in your bathrobe, and no one will see you. What a great idea not have this spa elevator as part of the main elevator system. And once again, I have not photographic evidence to share........ "Robin sometimes you have to remember things with your eyes..." Yes, but I can't share what I see and feel, and experience, without a camera. You will have to wait for this, tomorrow ...

      ... a delight prawn salad with the most delicious grapefruit and mangos ... and avocado! We got another half bottle of the Buzet and had another wonderful meal watching the families on the beach of the Vieux Port. We worked off that delicious dinner and earned dessert back at La Bounty by walking the entire distance back!       ... our backpacks down to the bare essentials (including iPod and mini speakers) and we will be forwarding our big backpacks to the other end where they will be held for us.  All things going well we will have  a fully stamped 'pilgrims passport' and a signed 'compostela' (certificate of completion) in our hot little hands by mid august at the latest.  Once we finish the hike, its luxury and party time in San Sebastian where we are ...
