    ... has some fine buildings but I think it is very glad today to have been the birthplace of the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, as this seems to be its key draw. Souvenirs of the astronomer are available in every medium imaginable. Should you wish, you can even eat Mr Copernicus in gingerbread form.

    ... still. We drove through open plains with high crops of cereals and then on to heavily wooded areas. A long drive, but enjoyable and delightful driving along to a double CD of classical music we bought in France. We also came to the conclusion that Poland is a land of pedestrian crossings and tractors!
