We have a hotel court yard breakfast at 10am. we are enjoying what we would at home, cereal, yoghurt and fresh fruit including NZ kiwi fruit. The day is again fine and warm. The forecast for the time we are here is for 26/27 though later today we saw a public thermometer showing 31. We decided to look around by water bus and particularly given that we had limited knowledge of where the water buses go, we bought a 2 day pass for 30 euro each. The frequency is ...

Day one in Venice we got lost, and walked around in pure amazement at the beauty of the cobblestone streets ...

... a few hours, getting lost in the plethora of little intermingled streets, talked philosophically about living in the moment, pinching ourselves that we had found ourselves in a beautiful city of Venice and shared life quotes we had read in different places. Eventually, we made our way back to the campsite with an intention of couple of quiet beers before calling it a night. On the tram home, we met Liam and Ash, an Australian couple from Perth who were also staying at ...

    Day two in Venice

A travel blog entry by jrpeacock on Jul 14, 2013

... the most expensive city in Italy you would expect it to be more well kept. There was a lot of graffiti and piles of rubbish here and there with few bins. I am not sure how the sewage system works in Venice (surely it can't be underground?!) but the smell of it followed closely a few times! The gondola ride was less relaxing and luxurious than I had hoped. I felt a bit like cattle as we bought a ticket, followed a lady with a paddle in the air and were ...
