... Stairs lid to the second floor. This is called a "Golden Staircase" as they told us. It is gold-filled and really gorgeous. I've taken some photos with my iPhone, but yet the pictures can't show the full reality)))
So the inside of this palace was filled with wonderful paintings, old-fashioned rooms, reception rooms and there was even a room with maps of different centuries and eras.
After walking through the floors we went ...

Venice, Veneto, Italy fedck... and ankles messed up. We then got on the Vaparretti to go back to Lido and our driver was we guess a new guy, because he missed every stop and had to back up. The gate guy was yelling at him and he was only doing like 1 mile an hour, then I thought well we will probably drown or something and then was crying again wanting to come home. I know it sounds like I am a cry baby, but I am and feel so far from home. Will ...
Venice, Veneto, Italy lucy1279... of her treatments and at last I have heard her to say: I feel nice! And I, after a few days, have had no more trouble with my knees and back. It did really seem I had a new body! But I wasn't yet completely satisfied! I wanted to know what there was around the Hotel La Residence & Idrokinesis. So, one of the last days I left my wife in the Hotel and while she was still relaxing I have had a early breakfast and with my gym shoes I went out ...
Abano Terme, Veneto, Italy gbhotelsabano... over 5 miles.
A lot of people told us we'd visit Venice regularly over the next few years while we are stationed in Aviano....and I think they might be right. Venice is an enchanting place, and the food is pretty darn good as well.
Allen and I are hopeless romantics, so this place seems to suite us well. ;)
Venice, Italy nikmarks79... first ghetto. Actually the word "ghetto" comes from Venice. This is historically the Jewish part of town and I could see signs with directions to temples and other things written in Hebrew. The streets were full of tourists and touristy things to buy. After a little while we got into the fruit and vegetable market, where every stand was selling the same types of friut. I wanted to get something but I was also trying to push the group to get to Piazza San Marco before it got too ...
Venice, Italy kenbeyerlein... or should I say Vaperetto to Lido where all the beaches are on the main land. It was packed at the beach and the sand was grey, no Aussie beach. We also shared a gondola ride with Tet and Kath through the canals one evening, which was really romantic. We ate heaps of Gellato and some average pasta and excellent pizzas. Overall we liked Venice the sinking city.
Venice, Italy margoandac... the canal a couple of times today. Very shaky. Surreal. I feel drunk right now. Donàt know if itàs the jetlag or the experience of being in another country and trying to adjust. Iàm wellrested and wellfed, itàs a strange experience. Well, time to get my shaky brain up and at em again. I am going to try to join some sort of walking tour or take a ride out to Burano-where they make all the glass. Ill be taking the first train out tomorrow so I can get to Florence a day ...
Venice, Italy rachaelnicholls... by his successors. So the Big M downed tools and left them as they were. Michelangelo believed his role was only to liberate the figures from the marble blocks, and you can see this birth and genesis in these statues - they are stepping partly formed from the rocks, still unfinished, but completely identifiable. Florence itself is a beautiful city, quite compact and full of wonderful buildings and open air art, that is protected in part by anti pigeon spikes that are electrified ...
