So after months of planning and organising to within an inch of our lives we set off. We flew Gulf Air via Bahrain. In the run up to Christmas Bahrain Airport was a weird experience. A real collision of cultures. Animated polar bears and Santa together with middle eastern dress. Still, the toilets began to prepare us for the joys to come.
Arrived at the airport on time after last minute frenzy of packing and list ticking, only to be told check in not allowed as one of our bags over the legal 'back breaking ' weight limit. Had to re-pack in the airport lounge.

Good location. Very small rooms. Very friendly staff. Hotel restaurant breakfasts were very good.
