... back on boat after hour as even hotter! Sailed water highway to Burano Island the highway was defined by Tri pod piles, each with number on so if you broke down could call in number for rescue. Speed limit of 20 km out on highway but lots boats flew past. When we reached Burano the dock was to crowded so pulled up beside boat and had walk from our boat thru other boat was bit wobbly. Went to lace making demo, dying art so had to make purchase so very proud owner ...

... d often find that the layout of the place did not always move us into the correct room. We eventually figured it out and learned a lot from the auidioguide.

I cannot imagine how they heated such large buildings. It was COLD in all the rooms. Some rooms had hearths. The larger rooms, however...They had to have braziers as a heat source because it got pretty nippy unless the Venitians could stand the cold and are not as wimpy as me!

... weird really. Walk walk and more walking then back to hotel for a rest and then yet more walking to catch the city at night. It was interesting to catch the change over from the shopping crowd during the day to the restaurant and concert going crowd in the evening. ... It must have been about 6km long. So far not at all the romantic image but once we'd got there and parked the bikes at the bus station and got away from the traffic it got better. ... Bridge, Academia Bridge and the cruise terminal seem to be some of the markers seen most often. Since our hotel was close to St. Marco, we were able to follow signs for that and get back to where we needed to be with little difficulty.
