... after 700 years, finally drove the last of the Saracens (Muslims) out of Spain and told the country’s huge Jewish population to either convert, get out or die. Ten years later, Martin Luther with his 95 Theses set the world of Christianity afire. Thirty years later Henry VIII beheaded Anne Boleyn. ... we more or less stumbled upon our hotel, which turned out to be very high standard. We sat outside and shared a beer before negotiating the challenge of how to get up into the ancient walled town above. Looking at it from below, I could appreciate how the Italians (back in the day) had failed to conquer it. It is the oldest republic in the world. Our plans to take the cable car were dashed by the receptionist when she ...

      The "Okay" day

Went to the beach next to the camping place which is just across the road. It is a bit ****. The water is cold and you have to pay for umbrellas on the beach. We walked for a few kms and played until it started raining. We continued playing in the rain on the swings. I made pasta bolognaise with my ...
