    I (un)surprisingly arrived to Slovenia knowing nothing about the country, the culture, the language, the people, the climate or the local currency that I was about to spend five days in..though I had heard whispers.


    1. The name of the capital city in Slovenia is ridiculously ************ounce (and even harder to spell)

    ... along the Soca Valley - this is so clear - mental note to return next year and camp

    We pay our 5 Eur and set off, talk about butterflies, hope we do not meet anything coming the other way and pray we get the right exit at the end of the tunnel otherwise it will not take long to get to the bottom

    ... We enjoyed a family-style dinner in the spacious dining room.

    The next day, clouds lifted and we took off to drive the Panorama Tour of the three valleys. This route is about 25 km long and traverses mountain rims with views of forests, farms and meadows.
