We had driven about 450 km on secondary roads doing around 80-90, so not to bad. At the camping they had two ponds, one with carpers and one with trouts. We ordered some trout with almonds for dinner which was beautiful and enjoyed our first night. ... hit our first port of call Selles. We have never had so many laughs. Inside boat is great. Had to draw straws to see who got ensuites and who got single bunks. Karen and Lou and we got ensuites. Yea! Others got single bunks and Erica got a room to herself. Had a real nice dinner tonite. We all had a few drinks (even Erica) and we got the only other couple in the restaurant to join us! You know how social we all are en mass!

This is our hotel room. Small and pokey. All these photos I called " from" is for Plombieres les-Bains.this is where the train took us from Dijon to Plombieres les-Bains. Beautiful old place. Lots of Roman features! Just come back from dinner. Very nice. Lou shouted a bottle of champagne to celebrate the start of our journey!. Weather a bit drizzle. Hope it clears up for our canal ...

... tasty wild blueberries growing in many places which kept them going. Up in the Vosges we saw markers indicating the old boundary between France and Germany before the first World War. Even in the mountains one gets a strong sense of history of the place!
