We got up at 7 and showered and had a quick breakfast and we were of the road against 8:15. The temperature is supposed to get into the 40's today so we wanted to get our touring done in the morning. Varanasi is a city of 44 villages and they grow lots of cash crops like sugar cane and rice. We kept on walking along the Ganges when a light rain started. We figured that it would be fine so we just kept on walking. How bad could it be? We went in direction to the Old city to see the Vishwanath Temple or Golden Temple, but there was at least a 5km waiting line to get in. This was because it was Shiva Day.
