The road up this pass looked really amazing from down below. High up on the cliff above I noticed a wonderful stone built bridge virtually hanging on the edge of the cliff. Onwards to find the Dolomites
... been gritted but water flowing across the road had washed all the grit away and was now freezing over and made it extremely dangerous for me. Extreme gentle handling of the bike was the only solution!!
Finally I reach the summit of the pass and not long after enter the town of Vermiglio (I think) where there is loads going on. The cable car is running taking skiers to the top of the surrounding mountains and the whole town just seems alive with people. I stop here for a cuppa ...

I was surprised to wake up in one piece - the man that opened us our Zimmer at ortisei looked really weird and he had the face of the crazy Austrian we saw on the news...quickly I started telling myself a story about how he will kill us and give us to the dogs...brrrrr....
