Finally Arrived

... and got back the results of last Fridays maths test and is now studying for another test and is only in year 10 out of 13 years, as school is a year longer in Germany, thank goodness I'm Australian!!) For lunch we had potato soup with sausages in it, which was really yummy. It tasted like pumpkin soup.
Now I'll go and play Wii or something (they have all Australian games and Julia's sister loves "Animal Crossing) or watch some German TV, speak to you later!!

Oops... I forgot about the Sound Of Music!

... the tour took us all over parts of Salzburg and a couple towns outside of town. we got some great pictures! At the last town we had some very tasty Apple Stroodle! After the tour was done we walked around Salzburg seeing markets and places dedicated to and places of Mozart.
The next day we headed to Prague... and I beleive you know what happened there, so on to Germany!!

Took a side trip to Prague. Amazing city, one of my favorites now! Loved it.

Now I'm in Munich til Monday. It's great here...beautiful sights and delicious beer! I'm in heaven haha

OK sooo that's a little update for now! Hope everyone is happy and healthy!

More soon...

Finishing up Germany

(61 miles) Today, we rode a little too hard and realized that we probably need to slow down a bit. Its kinda the tortoise and the hare bit. We mostly rode today not a whole lot of sight seeing. Chrissy hit some gravel today and fell of her bike skinning her knee. Also we saw a lady on a bike get hit by a car. I guess it's just one of those days? After our long day we showed up at the less expensive very welcoming canoe/camping place.

Yet more fine weather and surprising progress

... on the path. Not much happened. I thought I was stopping early but the speedo says its 37 miles. Otoh one day was 67 miles and this is definitely too far! I was looking at a swimming hole just beyond the campsite village. It turned out to be unused and a bit yucky. Campsite is the garden of a bar with a shower toilet round the back. I was chatting to a couple of cyclists and they recomended the dumplings. It was very good and a huge meal. So settling up showed the bill for meal, a ...

... reopened Frauenkirche which is really beautiful inside. After this we go to the Verkehrsmuseum (traffic museum) where they have lots of old street cars, trains, planes, cars, bikes, and other cool stuff. We generally act silly, trying out the hands on exhibits (crashing planes on flight simulator, driving model trains, and riding bikes) One thing made me mad though…there was an exhibit about Wilbur and Orrville Wright, but the only mention ...

The competition for first place...

... made me realise how close to civilization we are still. But we picked up some nice goodies for our picnic tonight. We have been recommended to take the hour-long walk, uniquely named: "The Romantic Walk" to a lookout at sunset, so that's the plan for our last night here. We are staying in the cutest little apartment. Everything is hand-made out of wood and it is owned by a hippie American and a bohemian-like Australian, who came here 14 years ago and fell in love and never left ...

Ceske Budejovice

Ceske Budejovice is home to one of my (Brad's) favourite lagers - Budweiser Budvar (not to be confused with that American slop that stole their good name). We had a few hours there to sample the golden stuff straight from the source and take a tour of the brewery in German with a friendly bunch of Viennese pensioners...

Relaxing by the river

... is canoeing or rafting down the river past forested mountains and down the occasional rapid. It also helped that we stayed in the nicest european hostel thus far (Merlin's). We lazed around here for a few days contemplating our next destination. The mountains and cities of Austria were tempting but the coast beckoned....
