      We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

      ... have to get on the autostrada some of the way to get some kilometers behind me, it was a long drive.
      I have really enjoyed driving along the Mediterranean coast, but heading into the mountains again was nice. There wasn't much traffic on the smaller roads and the weather was still really nice.

      ... how warm it is today- not the freezing weather I was expecting. Back on the shore we slowly wander through the small streets, visit the painter statue at the end of a wisteria walk in the council gardens and then wander along the water's edge back to where we parked the car. It is so peaceful and beautiful here. I love it even more now.       ... or chairs covered with white 'wedding style' covers. Decorations on each table - a garden gnome! Or more specifically we realised (on reading the similarly decorated menus) - one of the seven dwarfs! No idea what that was about! Food was lovely though - Andreas had told us that rice dishes and mushrooms are a local specialty, so we ordered porcini risotto. Interestingly, every risotto dish we've seen since has also been for minimum 2 people. It was divine. Too full ...
