... own towels, soap and toilet paper because they don’t supply it. No private rooms, of course, usually 6 people in a room. Since the food is so bad Italian families bring tons of food to hospital patients. They also stay at the hospital 24 hours a day because they don’t trust the nurses who are usually chatting, drinking coffee and smoking.

... We found a nice place for lunch down by the water and enjoyed a nice long lunch of pasta and wine. Tonight we are eating out and can pick from a few local restaurants that our tour director has recommended. Getting our prepaid car, a little 5 speed Fiat, was a breeze. Standing in line with a younger fellow from Australia, we discussed the upcoming challenge of navigating Rome roads. When we approached the rental agency attendant to do the paperwork, everything moved quickly and smoothly....maybe one of the side benefits of booking from Canada ...
