... on the sundeck and watched as we passed gorgeous towns (including the city of Linz) and went through a number of locks. That is a weird sensation as this huge barge goes down into the lock ready to be let through when the water levels are adjusted. Another interesting sight (actually of this whole trip) has been the huge number of vapor trails from planes in the obviously very busy skies...quite disconcerting to think there is so much traffic flying around up ...

Armed with a map we made our way over to the old part of town. Here we found some grand buildings, churches, church grave yards and some beautiful, quaint streets. Dinner at a Italian Restaurant around the corner from the hotel. We had a drink at the bar and then had dinner at the restaurant. We shared a beef carpaccio, for mains Leonie had a Fritto Misto and I had prawns with a Whisky and tomato sauce. Both dishes where excellent and got washed down with a nice Italian ...

... stops and it's actually warm. We hear the history and walk up the hill to the castle....again the Hapsburgs of Austria enter the picture. A very picturesque town. We have a lunch of goulash and Czech beer (fun fact...the original Budweiser is from a town not too far from here...Budweis). Another fun fact, the book, The Bloodletter's Daughter by Linda Lafferty, an ...
