... not often available and a veal schnitzel would cost around €50. Free time in the afternoon. Would have liked to have done the hop on, hop off S of M bus ride or the train up to the castle, or the Mozart Museum, but needed to go back to the Christmas shop we passed in the morning to get a nativity. Most of them were German made and when I asked if they had any Austrian scenes, the lady asked why I didn't like the German ones. Told her I had one from Germany ...

Riding along past fisherman, tiny little villages and strawberry farms, even an old hippie, ...

... villages and admired locals going about their simple lives. Schlogen is to the people of Linz what Rotto is to Perth-ites. It is so picturesque.. So green, so tranquil. Our first night in our tent and a thunderstorm finds us :) we weren't sure if our tent was waterproof- thank goodness it is! We camped beside a little lake which sounded like it was home to Austria's entire duck population! Em ...

First cycle day - Engelhartszell to Aschach. 43kms

... cyclists. I plan on doing more when I get home! There's quite a few older people cycling and a number of them do have the electric bikes. I so wish I'd booked one. Tonight I asked Leslie if there were any left but there's only high ones so no good for me. Damn! It was a great day but I've decided not to cycle the route tomorrow. Another 42kms consecutively is too much, specially for my poor ...
