Luigi didn't understand that we didn't need much, and without any discussion we were presented an amazing lunch with a bottle of wine included as a welcome! The customer service of the hotel ...

... at the beach. Although the food in Italy is divine, I'm very appreciative of my first home cooked meal since leaving Christchurch. Then around 10.30 we drive to the marina and Jo introduces me to the social scene here. I had assumed we were going to a cafe or bar, but we end up at the waterfront, almost similar to a boulevard strip, and the surrounding piazza and streets....and although it's a Monday night the entire area is packed and lively with people simply ...

... of Amalfi is a must see if you come here!!

As I think about describing the rest of my day, I can't help feeling it pales in comparison, so I'll simply keep it brief. I rest at a tiny bar with a prosecco and aperol to refresh me before getting the bus back to Praiano, where I enjoy Octopus Salad in a terrace restaurant overlooking the coast. The remainder of my afternoon I have the pool area completely to myself, where I doze, read and swim. Tonight dinner is being prepared ...
