There is no air conditioning in most of these places, only big heaters so it was stifling hot inside the hotel. Luckily we had a room in a chalet out the back where we could open all our windows. I would make it home, though, miraculously without a single wrong turn. I follwed the town square's northern facade, with my stick, and one of my current students greeted me out of nowhere. "Hello, Tom. How are you?"
      Boy! The uncertainty ...
