... me three different mattresses, and none of them were foam. One was 85 and the other two were 99. The difference between the two was definitely noticable. Then the dude said that if I got the 99 one he would throw in a set of sheets for free (and they cost 10 euro). So, I took the deal. There was a 50 euro mattress, but it was very thin and for children. It would not have been comfortable for ten months. So, I got a mattress, sheets ...
Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jrsoursOne of the teachers that I assist couldn't be here at all this week, and he asked me if I felt comfortable taking over his class for the week. I said I would, and this weekend he emailed me some information about what to do and discuss in class.
Our topic today was "If you had the power to change the world, what would you change?" The students are to write their own first chapter of a book entitled "Ecotopia." Today we ...

Tomorrow I have to:
1. get up and go get my apartment looked at by the rental agency to make sure of the apartment's condition so they can ensure that the room is returned in the same condition
2. go to the electric company and sign up so I can have power at my new place
3. go to the bank and finalize my damage ...
After popping into and out of Germany, we were now back in Belgium. It was beginning to get a bit dark, and we still had at least 200 miles left to drive.
Gaz's motor was struggling, and threatening to overheat, so we stopped to let it cool down.
With the vehicles all decorated with stickers, we attracted a bit of attention, and a Belgian couple took our ...
... on.
We stopped at one point, because the roadbook wasn't very clear, at which point Gaz and Charlotte came up behind us. They had been left behind by the V8s, as they were in a Series vehicle, so we said we'd stick with them.
At this point, Kieran noticed a strange noise from our engine, which was duly investigated by James. It was diagnosed as the fan belt tensioning pulley. But we didn't do anything about it at the time.
lots to say.. where to begin?
On Friday we had a teacher outing to Stolberg. It is a very old city about 20 km from Aachen. We had a great time. The weather was very nice, for a change, haha. We first went out to lunch at a cafe. The food was pretty good, I had salmon and potatoes and salad. The only thing was we had to wait FOREVER (at least an hour) to get our food, and not everyone got their food at the ...
... and a little kitchenette in the corner. There is also lots of floor space in case anyone wants to come visit me! J (haha Then we would of course purchase a nice mattress and some blankets, would still be cheaper than a hotel room.)
After school today I am supposed to call the rental agency. I think I will just go there and talk to them and hopefully pick up the key. I am nervous about moving out of Nil’s house ...
We 'trundled down past Maastricht towards Germany. The deviations were big ones but we still were able to make good time! The scenery was worth the deviations though. We past by some wonderful little towns and river gorges. Very nice bit of countryside. Will have to return there sometime, God willing!
... my beer and chatted with the couple who owned the bar and a few locals. After about ten minutes, a man came into the bar and demanded, in rapid french, directions to the nearest main road. To my surprise, the man IŽd been talking to in german replied in fluent french. I thought it strange that a french tourist would walk into a bar in Germany and assume that they would be understood. I said as much. ŽAh!Ž replied the landlord, Žbut we are in Belgium. Germany is ...
Aachen, Germany dynamo... bodied with blond, shaggy hair. His friend was a black, flattened-bodied pig who waddled up to the fence and oinked a happy hello. A neighboring hotel-restaurant was the only thing around except the pony and pig. I went inside the "Hohe Lucht" for a beer. Two moderately made-up, older blond women called me near. Their English skills weren't that skillful. The one of them, Wilma, owned the hotel, and she was celebrating the final night the restaurant would be open ...
