... proceeded to win the playoffs on the second round. Our prizes – a Noordam coffee mug and a Noordam water bottle – these are referred to colloquially as a Dam Mug and a Dam Jug respectively.

We set off at around 6 p.m. for Tunis – although we do have tomorrow at sea as it takes longer than overnight to get there. There was a wild thunderstorm – actually the weather hasn’t been great ...
Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain suzanne-normanAnd at long last we are on our way ... can't quite believe we are actually starting this journey after all the work, planning, talking .... And we know we've been to San Telmo many times before but this time it is different!! And so good to have Simon's old friends Max & Linsey onboard - after all they were really the people responsible for him ending up in Port d'Andratx to begin with.
St Elm, Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain sharkita... out. It takes awhile to moor the yacht stern to, (the back end up against the dock) and to get out all the fenders (large air filled pads that keep the boats from rubbing up against each other and to setup the passarelle (like a long plank that is motorized with hand rails on each side). By the time we were able to go to shore we were dressed and ready. Several of the crew members had been here before so they were our guides to finding the dance clubs ...
Palma, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mylifesjourneyWe arrived in Cala de Calobra around 5:30. We anchored in the small bay and took a tender to shore. The little village has a small pier along one side of a steep hill and the village is crowded on the hillside raising between two much larger and steeper hills. The whole thing looks like some Hollywood set because of its idyllic setting on the small bay. There are several bars and restaurants where we got drinks and ate an early dinner.
sa Calobra, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourney... cave tour we took the heli to the yacht which was approaching Minorca island when we landed aboard. It was close to 6 PM, so we washed up and had dinner on the sun deck at 7 PM while we watched the sunset and as we entered long entrance to the Mahón harbor, the second deepest natural harbor in the world.
Porto Cristo, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mylifesjourney... waded around in the surf or fell back to sleep on the beach. It was good to get rehydrated after all the alcohol and dancing from last night. It was a nice relaxing afternoon with a beautiful beach view with several other yachts in the bay and a parade of nude or topless people walking by.

One of the girls met a guy on the beach. They spent a few hours chatting and getting to know each other. It was ...
Colònia de Sant Jordi, Balearic Islands, Spain mylifesjourney... try the very smart Castello Son Vida in parklands just outside Palma. Travelling further south along the coast is the residential village of Illetas, quiet, as it is not on the main road and has two fine hotels. The Melia de Mar (L) is a five star hotel on the seafront and has been recently refurbished to a high standard. The ever popular Hotel Bon Sol (L) is a few metres away and has been popular with tourists from the UK since it opened 50 years ago and continually a top favourite ...
palma, Spain paulatluxury... beach all day; sandy feet, a lot of sun in my happy tank, my hair smells like salt and I can taste it on my lips too... I like all of it. It was actually something I didn't do enough of when I lived in Honolulu. But like Honolulu, Puerta Alcudia has hundreds of shops peddling stupid tourist **** all along the beach streets. If you every wanted a penis ashtray from Mallorca or a coffee mug with your name on it and the Mallorca island outline ...
Palma, Spain graceonthego... caught a train and had a tour of the Freixenet winery. It was a full tour of the whole process and good to see and learn (I saw a couple in Napa Valley with my family but don´t remember much of the technical stuff). That night (last night) we hopped on a ferry to Mallorca (an island in the Mediterranean south of Spain). We had met some of Andrea´s friends in the hostel who had went and had a great time with the best part being the 25€ round trip ferry. The ferry ...
Palma, Spain brentdi visit spain so often but I had my first trip there at the tender age of about 8 months! haha!

needless to say I can't remember that particular trip but the subsequent ones really hit the spot with me!

I love Majorca because it has something for everybody. Mad nightlife, beautiful beaches and scenery, lovely people and not as "high rise" as main land Spain.
