Arrived in Amsterdam yesterday, Tim's friend, Woody, was too busy and can only catch up with us Saturday night, so we thought, ok let's go visit Maryke's uncle Falkert (the brother of Tim's beloved Oma). Falkert and his wife (Phinneka, currently visiting her sister in Canada) live just over an hour away from Amsterdam, in Leeuwarden. Today we drove over the famous Dike that was built to help drain The Netherlands. It uses special locks that uses the tide and allows water to leave but not enter. The dike is over 30 km long. Without the dike and lock system, Netherlands would loose 1/4 of their land ...

... once we were there. We drank coffee at a nice hotel, Hotel Duinzicht, which randomly had a jumping castle inside that Indy loved jumping on! We also travelled an hour or so to Pieterburun to see a seal animal shelter. Indy loved it and cousin Patrick bought her a very cute seal stuffed toy. There were so many other random places, but these are a few that I would like us to remember for years to come.

So our 2 weeks and 2 days with the Folkers ...

... Anyway, I got back to the campsite and tugged at the bed as hard as a could but it would not budge. So, to get some air I opened the window... And broke the clip so the window wouldn't close. That was that! I clearly was making matters worse, so decided to leave it all and just take some time to chill out. I cracked open a very special bottle of wine from some very special friends (you know who you are :)) and did some maintenance chores instead. Takin advantage of the free running ...
