        ... track initially, but cool heads prevailed and we made the train with 5 minutes to spare. The ride is very smooth and fast with xxxKm covered in 1 hour 24 minutes. The trip was through the plains which are all heavily built out. The population covers only 30% of the land, with the rest being mountainous and un-developed.         After breakfast and photos Mr Yumoto drove us to the train. We went to Nagano then ran to catch an earlier train to Matsumoto, this caused much confusion at the gate but we made it . Boys relaxed in the hotel. We explored the town - nakamichi street and nawate street. Found the best indigo fabric shop ever, and bought some treasures, was also given lots of fabric gifts!
