We woke up rather late and had to rush down to breakfast. Getting out of bed when it's in the floor is tricky! We decided to go to the modern art gallery as the weather forecast was improving as the day progressed. ... at Craft and then leaving the mountain early for late sushi lunch at our favourite place (Hamacho). We'd met a new family at the lodge (the Lawrences from Singapore - their two girls got on brilliantly with our kids). They joined us for the sushi at lunch and then for dinner at Restaurant Sakai (the grilled mackerel was amazing)

... It provided, however, a relaxing way to enjoy the setting sun amidst the mountainous scenery ("Japanese Alps"). We caught the evening shinkansen from Nagano to Kanazawa.

*Travel Tip: Train station lockers make storing luggage super easy when moving between hotels and having adventures at the same time. In Japan, however, these lockers are smaller than those in Europe. We do not recommend traveling with large bags since they will not fit in most train station lockers. ...
