... We finished our outing with a stroll along Tokyo Bay. I love the promenades, water vistas and especially the lush green hills. I am exhausted, overwhelmed but most of all excited about this new journey. And we've come along way physically, mentally and emotionally. We are making progress. We have arrived. We've assembled a plan. We've gotten our bearings, and we've even made new friends (more about this later). We are in Japan. We now live in Japan. Still feels ...

... walk to the temple where the hanamatsuri ended. The Kosenji temple is a Buddhist temple that celebrates the glory of Kusatsu Onsen. There were lots of small stands with activities for the children. Nice temple located on a hilltop overlooking the Yubatake en the town center. When walking back to the bus stop we pass a large stand where they sell knives, shears, pruning shears in all sizes. We buy a shear in the shape of ikebana clippers, the rounded handle ...

... in there. Everything is geared to tiny Japanese people.... According to Japanese custom shoes needs to be removed when entering the room, room slippers are waiting for us. Beds are extremely hard, each bed has a small and very thin pillow, there is another pillow in the closet. We unpack and relax for a while, then take a walk around the hotel. It is a large and kind of dated resort which could use some TLC...... Our Japanese dinner reservation is for ...
