Every house seems to have a family run car wash. If not a car wash, you own a petrol station, and often we drive past three next to one-another. Albania is full of sites, including donkeys on the highway, carp salesmen road side anywhere there is a river, restaurant waiters standing ...

... where we had wanted to go. We had no idea what to do. We contemplated getting off where we were and then trying to make our own way west but it was around midnight, it was raining, we had no internet to check out what our options were and, even if we did, my phone was about to go flat. We felt that our only option was to stick with the bus and hope for the best. Another few hours past and we reached Fier. It was still cold and wet and we still didn't know what to do.
