... The weather served up was ideal: sunny, mildly cool in the mornings and evenings, and warm during the day. This stay was relaxing, with very little to do as a tourist. It was a welcome shift from sightseeing to simply living as a beach bum and enjoying the many fine restaurants and shops.

... for a little while, it has little pebbles instead of huge rocks like at Nice. It is quite funny that Nice is known for their beach even though it is huge pebbles. I dont know if I think of a beach as having anything less than smooth sand. Although it is necessary to say that there are THOUSANDS on the Nice beach, the Baie des Anges.

I then wound my way down all the way to the beach front. The beaches are sandy here and are a kind of brown colour. There were these weird blue things that I at first thought were bluebottles. Next to them were white skeletons of these blue things. Wonder what they are called. There weren't very many shells only the odd one here or there. ... on the bay as we waited for our train. And waited...and waited, until a lovely Frenchman came over and delivered the news that the 10:02 was cancelled and the next one wasn't til 11 :( This meant that we would probably miss our connecting train at Ventimiglia.
