          We had a really early start today as a long drive ahead of us. Stopped along the way at The Leaning Tower of Pisa but we could not go up as the queue was a mile long and we didn't have enough time. From there it was off on thru Genoa and onto Monte Carlo.

I chose the Salade St. Pauloise (cured ham, chevre and egg), Jeff had a Salade Niҁoise with our meal accompanied by the lovely pale, pink tones of a Côte de Provence Rosé (I just love this wine!!). It was the perfect meal for a hot, summer day. We were content sipping our wine while relishing the magnificent view. Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a delightful little town that is worth a stop as part of any visit to the Côte D’Azur.

          Waking early I need to make immediate travel and accommodation plans. I was reluctant to stay in Nice another night, I felt I had now been there long enough and was ready to move on. Unfortunately the availability of accommodation in Venice was extremely limited, therefore I decided to check Milan, which had some but not much.
