We visited Sirmione castle on the 21st September - the most significant example of the defensive structures on Lake Garda. We climbed up some stairs and soon we were able to see all of the city. This was the first time in my life that I had been in a proper castle. It was amazing to walk the ramparts, see the arrow slits and climb the tower.

So we are now staying at Camping Cappuccini which is lovely, we have a huge pitch, access to the beach (through a locked gate so site seems a very secure) a bar which has free wi-fi.
