... was great! That afternoon I walked, essentially the length of Rome city in the half rain and had a brilliantly clam afternoon. It was great! On the whole, you need to go to Rome. It's amazing. But it's over crowded, a little dirty and a lot of what you look at is in some state of ruin. So just don't expect a lot of space to move around and you will be so fine! ... quite a difficult climb, but at least there was a small crucifix at the top. On the way back down we were able to see the sun sink behind the hills and cover the valley in a soft pink and red. This was our last night in Assisi and it was just the end that was needed to close out an amazing pilgrimage of faith, one which led all of us deeper and revealed to us the richness of what it means to be Catholic. What a privilege we have in experiencing this faith first hand.
