Tonight we are staying outside of Aalborg. We travelled to Skagen which is located at the northern tip of the Jutland peninsula. It is a major shipping centre and fishing town. During the summer it is also a tourist town. Very quaint houses - likely many are vacation rentals. Then we headed back south to Aalborg where we will stay overnight before taking the ferry to Sweden tomorrow ...

We wandered around the cobblestoned streets before taking cover during a passing thunderstorm in a local pizza restaurant, followed by our first tasting of Danish Waffles and ice-cream which didn’t disappoint. I absolutely adore Aalborg! It is not a tourist part of Denmark by any means but it is wonderful. The people are so lovely and friendly, it is very safe and clean, the night life is great, it is beautiful and the food!...... I don't think the food gets any better than it does in Denmark!
I have been here twice already but plan on going many more times and hope, one day to go on a more permanent basis :-)
I got a more positive view of people in general I would say. We were met with more hospitality then I had ever hoped for on this trip.
Maybe we where in too much of a hurry to get around. It would have been very nice to stay longer in some places, I believe. Also, I learned a little Spanish, French and Italian, but not much. It was very funny to try to get rides with words I hardly knew what they meant. I don't regret that we didn't go to Venice, ...
