    ... Mt Fuji.

That pretty much filled in the day as we got back to our accommodation just in time for dinner. I enjoyed today's meal a bit more than last nights.

Dinner was very interesting we had a traditional Japanese meal I didn't like the seafood but the pork and chicken dishes were really nice.

After dinner we returned to our room and I finally got to enjoy some time in the onsen.

Now I'm relaxed and ready to sleep.

On our final morning at the ryokan, we had another Japanese breakfast. We relaxed in our kimonos on the balcony in the sunshine for a few hours, then left to catch the Shinkansen to Kyoto. We had a magical stay at Gora Kadan and hope to come back someday with friends or ...

... the big cities and get immersed in the culture and architecture and people. Alternately though - what Hakone is giving me a taste of - is a wealth of natural beauty to be found in the countryside and quiet whispering forests that seem to roll on endlessly once you leave the big city.

I stayed at my first ryokan here - the Lodge Fujimien. I can't really believe what <100 bux a night gets you here. The view from ...
