... time we had there, so we took a walk down to the coast, which was nice enough, and had a look at the flower clock - the one in Edinburgh is far nicer! A day in Valpo
... arrived at two days previously. The metro system in Santiago is really great - modern, clean and efficient. Another great facet of this very pleasant city. But I was headed for another side of Chile, the self-proclaimed cultural capital of the country that was once one of the busiest ports in the world until its importance shrank dramatically in the wake of the Panama Canal.

... Someone told me that this is the place which gave Salvidor Dali the inspiration to paint that trippy painting of the desert with the melting clocks dripping everywhere. We will see what inspiration it gives us!

... It seems the can sprayers do have some respect for others' property after all!
As the sun disappears the fog builds even more. It's still there, heavier than ever the following morning too. Though it makes it easier to climb into the taxi for the last time, it is still difficult to leave the hospitality and friendly staff of the hotel who wave us off.
