... pizza tasting thing for lunch then carried on walking around the city. Met a friendly English speaking girl on the tour and ended up spending the afternoon with her having more food and beer, beer, while trying to take in the amazing landscape around us ( there's something quite comforting about meeting someone else that can speak English and have a conversation with you). It truly is chilly in Chile this time of year but to use a well worn cliche, the welcome has been warm. Since we arrived we've been staying in the upstairs bedroom of a doctor and his family's house. The view of the Bay of Valpariso from our bedroom window is amazing! The temperature inside is about 55, only slightly warmer than it is outside. In the meetings we go to everyone keeps their coats ...

We walked all along the coastline of Vina del Mar and saw the casino, the Wulff castle and the people of the city who were very engagiing and interesting. We felt safe and it was a beautiful and crisp winter night.
