... A part of the hillside was scarred by fire in the recent past. Elsewhere, cypress, olive and other trees dotted the hillside providing much needed shade. We say people riding their bikes down the steep hill and still others running up the hill. In this heat? Are they NUTS?

... we should visit Erice after we have dropped bags at our accommodation in Segesta ..temple there . We did this and motored half an hour in our little Peugeot to Erice.Up a goat track with hairpin bends guided by Tom Tom..glad to make it without a head on. Our last full day in Trapani was spent casually strolling the old town, stopping for cappuccino, selecting a restaurant for dinner and reading in the sun on our terrace. The only task we HAD to do was confirm the departure point for our bus back to Palermo. From Trapani we drove to Erica and visited an old historic city built on top of a mountain... Now on our way to Agrigento. Took pictures of ancient ruins. Now heading to Ragusa.
