      ... relieved the pain with delicious iced coffees! After lunch we headed out on our coffee tour. It was to the Dos Jefes finca where they produced Luna coffee. Our guide was a fellow Canadian who had lived and worked on the farm for over 10 years. It was nice to walk around the farm and see how it is grown. It seems most of the coffee farms in Panama are small specialty farms that produce only really enough coffee to sell themselves, or else they sell the green beans ...

      ... We ended up being in luck because the water taxi arrived early and bus seemed to be late because we made it. It was a proper coach instead of the little coaster too. A guy even came on the bus selling empanadas for 50 cents each, so that was our breakfast sorted.

      ... join the queue for our immigration stamp. We were not thinking straight when an 'official' standing by the immigration queue demanded USD $1 for a municipal tax sticker that was put in the passport - still unsure whether this actually needs to be paid or not.

      Finally, when it was our turn, a group of truck drivers barged in front of us and the official just processed them without a care about us. We then moved to the next window and got over enthusiastic young lady ...

      ... sea level, the start of the hike was at 2200m and the summit of the volcano is at 3475m. It is the highest point in Panama and yesterday we were swimming in the ocean so the altitude might have some impact. We started walking at around 00:30. The trail was up a really rough road, luckily the recent rains kept the ground firm as opposed to dusty and soft. It was perfect conditions for setting a blazing pace up the volcano.
