... totally drenched, we arrived to another time wasting session. On hearing the bikes were to be impounded, and with quite a number of "customs officers" standing around Diane "lost the plot" and stormed off across the compound, kicking a few things, instead of crying in frustration! Eventually at about 4:30 we took a taxi to the Iberia hotel in David.

Apparently the noise wasn't quite as bad for Kim and Joe (I think their room was further down the hall) so they're staying put. We, on the other hand, found an amazing little house-turned-hotel that's super quiet, has a flatscreen TV in the room, and is the same price. Score! We walked around town a few times trying to find place that sells beer and eventually had to go back to hotel to ask if there was supermarket nearby. Fortunately there was, only 2 blocks away but hidden - we had already passed it twice before without realising. The beer was really cheap again after the 'high cost' in Costa Rica, it was only 40c a beer!!

... and pulled up beside them assuming they needed help. I'm not sure what conversation went on between the driver and one of the ladies as I was sitting next to the engine but all of a sudden the two ladies and the child boarded our boat. The a few people from our group had to sit on each other's laps to make room. Next the man on the small boat started passing us all of their luggage which was on their boat. Seeing there was a bit of room by between ...
