    ... clear sky accompanied by a cool island breeze. I really can't imagine a place more idyllic than where we spent our day, and I read a lot of travel magazines. I spent hours vegging out in a hammock, we had beers and cocktails brought to us whenever we wished, we snorkeled over beautiful reefs and shared a big stretch of sand with no more than 25 people at any one time. I'm shaking my head in disbelief at how great today was; it just doesn't get any better than ...

    ... We ended up being in luck because the water taxi arrived early and bus seemed to be late because we made it. It was a proper coach instead of the little coaster too. A guy even came on the bus selling empanadas for 50 cents each, so that was our breakfast sorted.

    ... join the queue for our immigration stamp. We were not thinking straight when an 'official' standing by the immigration queue demanded USD $1 for a municipal tax sticker that was put in the passport - still unsure whether this actually needs to be paid or not.

    Finally, when it was our turn, a group of truck drivers barged in front of us and the official just processed them without a care about us. We then moved to the next window and got over enthusiastic young lady ...

    ... especially it being 8:00 at night. She said $45. We gave her a thumbs up and took it. Shortly after saying yes to $45 she opened the gate. She gave us a key and we were finally in our room. It was the nicest place we had stayed in our whole trip. Clean bathroom, no bugs, a mini fridge, a microwave a flat screen tv, no AC. We definitely didn't need AC. It was just like home in the summer where it's warm during the day but very cool at night. We were very tired after this ...

    ... in a downpour, but just 2 km down the road we found another “jungle lodge” hostel called Roots, where we got settled in just before the rain started to spatter the roof. From the bamboo deck overlooking the valley, we watched the mist and lightning show on the dense jungle below and above us, and celebrated our reaching the top of the Continental Divide with a cup of tea and a Snickers bar.
