... here way back when. I love the story of the centuries ago Archbishop who had the palace built and lived there with his mistress and 15 children! In Search of a Fortress: I decided to attend a Mozart Concert and a dinner in the fortress for Friday evening. I gave myself lots of time to get to the Old Town, so that I could wander and explore my way to either walk up or take the Funicular (cable car). I did both actually - walked most of the way up in the afternoon, stopping ...

... d be lucky to fit a horse & cart down, let alone two passing cars! So cool to see all the Heidi Houses up close though. I can see why Hansel & Gretel thought a house made of gingerbread would be perfectly normal!

Apparently, the Eagle's Nest project had over 3,000 men working on it 24 hrs a day & they completed everything including the roads, tunnels, and buildings in just 13 months! Germany efficiency at its best! Tom, our English tour guide, ...

... Scnitzle and chips shop.. We had a meal and a beer anyway, but also got talking to one of the staff, who could speak English. His name is Killi. He was a Russian national from St Petersberg who was now working and living in Vienna. He offered good advice and tips for our visit to Russia in a few weeks, which we eagerly jotted down on napkins. We decided to call it early tonight and head out to see Vienna tomorrow.. We all need ...
