First Trip to Austria, so we had to go twice in one week! What we noticed: extremely beautiful landscape - still a part of the alps, so snow and beautiful mountain streams everywhere, everything is cheaper than Switzerland, people actually wear Dirndls (think female lederhosen dresses), the food is much better, and you can smoke everywhere - yucky!

... and I'm glad we stopped. The rain started up again and we took that as our cue that it was time to head to Salzburg. it was a good thing that we left when we did since the GPS took us through many small towns throughout Germany. Since it was so late when we got here, we ate an early dinner, walked a bit on the shopping plaza and will do our touring tomorrow before heading for Garmisch, Austria.

... for her, she was wearing a rain jacket so I don't think she was that wet. I filmed it though. We continued to this cave like room. When we entered it, the walls and ceiling was covered in tiles. They were set up in nice mosaic designs. In the centre was this shrine. Our tour guide asked us to walk in and head to the back. Once everyone was in he told us about this "new" design that was operated by water as well. He turned the level and the "shrine" was that it was like a spinning ...

... we had an amazing view of the Moon lake and the mountains behind it. It was so natural, and so plain, but just unbelievably beautiful. There we stopped for the famous apple strudel that was said to be the best in Austria, and I would not disagree. It was amazing. We stopped in the church were the wedding of Maria and the Captain were filmed. There was a first holy communion going on, and everyone was dressed in the classic Austrian dress.
