... we had a great coastal walk, in search of la Vierge sur le rocher. We stopped at a café for hot drinks and directions. In addition to the directions, the owners offered us crêpes to share-we got to try their caramel, sugar, nutella and chocolate crêpes. Sweet! :) We had dinner on the way back to the hotel. We're doing great, and creating new friendships with our travel companions, a group from St. Louis, Missouri, and one from Colorado. Good ...

So timing was critical and with the long wait for the bags plus the very slow cab ride into town the anxiety was high.

Phil and I arrived at Gare Montparnasse at 10:25 for ...

... cold, muck, rain, SNOW, wet. Repeat: cold, rain, mud. After giving up near the end and flagging down a civic guard in an SUV, the hotel bar offered up hot coffee and good conversation with amazing travelers who have seen the world. As my friends from the trail trailed inn, I had new friends to add to the mix. In the albergue, I immediately saw Gemma, who I met in Pamplona. She became my favorite friend & I hope to ...

... sauce. It was absolutely delicious! Our host talks us into dessert so we have a berry sorbet which is more like a berry smoothie, then he brings us a shot of some local liqueur to try, we must look like we need it! So much for me hoping to lose a few kg's on the walk!

Another early night as we have another big day tomorrow, but it's our last days walking for this leg and we're looking forward to the rest. Fingers crossed Lesley's knee holds ...
