    ... walking poles I could barely manage a hobble. Then the other pilgrims began to pass us. Even older pilgrims, including an elderly Spanish lady with packs front and back were pulling ahead of us! We trained for months to make sure this wouldn't happen!!!     We were on somewhat of a deadline this morning. I had arranged to meet Phil and Louise at Gare de Lyon so the girls could catch the TGV down to Avignon. Phil and I had to then head to Gare Montparnasse to get the TGV to meet the rest of the guys at St.Jean de Luz. So timing was critical and with the long wait for the bags plus the very slow cab ride into town the anxiety was high.

    ... book a week or two weeks walking with a support vehicle which ferries your baggage from hotel to hotel and brings your lunch out to you. At various points you have the choice of continuing the walk or being ferried to the next overnight stay.

    ... sauce. It was absolutely delicious! Our host talks us into dessert so we have a berry sorbet which is more like a berry smoothie, then he brings us a shot of some local liqueur to try, we must look like we need it! So much for me hoping to lose a few kg's on the walk!

    Another early night as we have another big day tomorrow, but it's our last days walking for this leg and we're looking forward to the rest. Fingers crossed Lesley's knee holds ...
