... The final part of our tour was a walk through the main city centre of Heraklion- with its old historic buildings, lovely Orthodox Church, fountains and modern day brand name shops! Lance and Liam managed to add to their haul with a couple of large Greek warriors. God knows how overweight we will be on our trip home. Finished the day with an evening spent at the back of the ship watching the sun go down, and eating from the buffet which for once wasn't too ...

WE make our way out of the mountains and start heading towards the coast again, getting into Agios Nicolas in the late afternoon. A brief stop at this port town and we head back to Heraklion to say goodbye to the Yaris. Not sure if Louise is very sad to see it ...

... I had two options: stay in the taverna and wait it out, or go for it. I went with option B. I had a few reasons: (1) due to time constraints, I needed to get as far south and east as I could before dark, (2) plateaus tend to collect rain, so things might be better sooner if I got out, and (3) I wanted to put as much distance between me and that God-forsaken plateau and its accursed summit as quickly as I could. I partitioned and oriented ...
