Day 3 - Fujisan Sengen Shrine and Mt. Fuji

We got up reasonably early (!!) and had hot ham and cheese pancake/burrito style things from 7-Eleven for breakfast as we waited for our first Shinkansen at Tokyo station. The trains are ever so fast! We ended up taking three local trains and the Shinkansen to get to Fujinomiya, but it was totally worth it. The steps were as follows! 1. Take the JR Chuo Line to Tokyo Station 2. Get Shinkansen reservation and travel to Mishima 3. Take the JR Tokaido Main Line to Fuji 4. ...

... climbing season may be better so you
can safely walk more of the mountain as there is not really a lot to
do at the fifth station if not walking. Don't expect to see much of
Mount Fuji, the whole time we were there there was not one clear

Mercifully, the bus home from Mount Fuji was air-conditioned and it wasn't long before the night's exertions caught up with us. Heads began to drop and before I knew it, everyone around me was snoring softly.

At this point, it was around 27 hours since we had last slept and so having climbed a mountain in the intervening time, I guess that we can't be blamed for having a snooze on the bus home. However, anyone who knows me will also ...

... and already there are loads of things I don't want to forget.

People are walking by me and staring at me. Its WEIRD to be stared at because I'm white (or maybe they're looking at the Canada flag on my luggage).

It's so… I don't know how to describe it here!

OK so I had absolutely no issues at the airport. At first I just followed the crowd onto a shuttle to the main terminal and then to customs, which was easy peasy. So efficient. I had ...
