... the wall. Whilst in Berlin we visited the Holocaust memorial. Photos of this can be seen on this page (big grey pillars). As you walk further into the memorial the pillars towered over you, and it felt as if you were trapped. In some ways you could not see out and you could not see others inside the memorial. Everyone can concoct their own ideas about what the memorial represents to them, but to me it represented the sense of being trapped in a dark hellish prison ...

... bread, while Johno has a meat/sauce meal. We check into the hotel at 3pm; it's a nice room even if the hotel seems a little dated. The Powder Tower is right nearby, We buy tickets for a Mozart and Strauss concert at the nearby Municipal building, beautiful early 1900s art neuveau architecture and design. ... of where this actually was (all we had was the bus stop to get off at). Luckily after a few laps of the street I miraculously saw it out the corner of my eye and we found it.

The apartment was one of the best we've had. We had a lot of room and a very clean and quiet place to relax. The room wasn't ready as it was 9am so we dumped our bags and decided to walk in to Prague for the day.

... 130 L of beer a year, so that works out to 2.5 L a week. With the price of beer what it is, that doesn't seem too hard to believe.

The amount of other tourists here is absurd; by noon the squares are packed and it takes much longer to wade through the crowds of people to get anywhere. We're hoping we won't see crowds like this again until we hit Rome at the end of next week.
