    Last day and Chrissi packs while I run up town to do a few last minute things ...i walk her to the bus to farewell my fello traveller ...she's off to Barcelona ...then Paris ...go girl !! Then... It's just me ...I cruise the streets of Juan Les Pins for one last time before I leave tomorrow ...lunch could be in order ...oh duck breast ...gotta say ...big ducks ...

    ... It was lovely chilling out reading a book and having calypso ice lollies :) at about 5pm we headed home we stopped at a local market to get something for dinner- the guy didn't accept any cards only cash and after having ice lollies we had about €12 to get some food... Si chose the beer first (priorities) which left us with about €7.. I got some salad, sausages and a melon.. Looks like pesto pasta, ...

    ... mins north up the other side of the lake, this seemed a bit daft as wed end up retracing our steps within a couple of days!! So looking in the Alan Europe book we found 3 sites on the northern coast of Italy and worked out that it was going to be 3 more hours of driving, not the greatest after what must have been 4 hours already but we decided that we had little option but to bite the bullet and go for it, at least it was in the right direction and we ...

    ... any Italian was a bit of a shock after being fairly comfortable in France. Couldn't get hold of a phrase book til today, so we've been relying on a few phrases I wrote down at Eli's in Cambridge. Managed to pick up a fair bit quite quickly though, as most of the villages and towns we passed through were really friendly, and people kept coming up to us and asking questions in Italian.
