... a 24 hr strike
in Emilia Romana which meant people were rerouting everywhere and
the trains were full. I was lucky to get standing room on my train,
which was not so bad as it sounds. I was early on the train and a
chap explained to me that I could use a foldout seat in the corridor
until a seat in the carriage was available after Genova. Several of

I absolutely love it and now that all the crowds have left it is even better. We went for a walk after dinner last night and it was so quiet in comparison to the last couple of months. The end if August must have marked the end of the holidays and everyone has gone. There are still a lot if people walking around, the water ...
... are all the go here, promise! I thought I sort of looked ok and then this women/girl, who was probably around 40 ish, offered me her seat!!!!!!!!
Well that was it. If she thought I looked that old that I needed a seat over her, there is nothing left for me. I was devastated. The tears welled up, I just couldn't believe that I am that old and clearly look it. Oh ...

This afternoon we had drinks at a little bar near the church of Santa Margherita and back home to cook the first bit of meat we've had since we left Perth. Yummy
... that visit here. Just watching the women walk their dogs in high heals, others getting off scooters with incredible dresses and high heals on and while these incredibly handsome men lounge in the chairs looking ever so amazing, is theatre in itself.
We finished off having a delicious (very Italian) meal at Beppe's Achilles, overlooking the Marina. It was 11.30 by the time we finished up and the place was still buzzing.
