... ve got to give some credit to a city that gave Gaudi license. They might have lost that gamble, but no, tourists come in by the busloads to take pictures of the cherubim and seraphim and… themselves. The Arc is interesting, too, made out of brick, so not a copy of the French model like every other one I’ve seen. That’s something Spain has in common with Poland, I guess, the copious use of brick. Andorra la Vella, Andorra hardiek... days will get some entries soon.
Today, we started from France, and drove a few miles into Andorra. So we have now done 10 of the 11 countires!!
Photos to follow, I'll just go back and put some news on the other days, then get photos loaded up. That takes ages.
WHAT THE BROCHURE SAID: The Col de Port (1249m) is a beautiful climb and has a great descent to Tarascon.
Unfortunately the rest of the days route is on fairly major roads filed with cars heading for
Andorra to do some tax free shopping. Soaking your feet in thermal waters in Ax is highly
recommended, before taking on the seemingly endless Col de Puymorens (1915m).
We are now ...
... some software a few years ago, and has been living off that. "I don't even know how much I money I have in the bank, honestly ..." Given that he was talking about test driving Ferraris, but still finding his old Japanese tuner car faster, it must be a lot of money left in the bank ...
You might argue that it's all lies, because why would he stay in a hostel if he had all that money? Hostels are mostly about saving money, but I think they are ...
... the (one) driveway gave us the opportunity to escape, A trip that should have taken a couple of hours turned in to a full day by the time we were ready to stop. Then, for the second time on this trip, the hotel we had plugged in o PG turned out to be closed. No tourist information and nobody on the streets. Good thing the next hotel was open. Anyway, enough of that. The next day we woke to sunshine that just got better during the day. We checked out ...
Andorra la Vella, Andorra marybcProbably like you, I had no idea there was a country located between France and Spain. Well, turns out there is - a beautiful little country located in the middle of the Pyrenees mountains called Andorra. Though the smallest European country, it has the second longest life expectancy of any country in the world and is renowned for ...
Andorra la Vella, Andorra trent... The pizza wasn't too bad, but I accidentally ordered a non-alcoholic San Miguel to go with it and didn't realise until I'd taken the first swig. Poisoned. I then wandered up to an internet café to see if I could find any information about drinking in Andorra- I had to have a beer there on principle alone. Wikitravel didn't list any drinking and European Irish (basically a website listing Irish pubs) basically said all the nightlife was in the mountains. This was backed up by a ...
Andorra la vella, Andorra englishanddrunk... an hour of no luck it's gone 3 and we need to make a decision on what to do. So we decide to walk to the nearby town of Bram as we can see a train line that runs close to it. After walking through the while of Bram and seeing that it pretty much has nothing to offer we see a sign for the train station and our eyes light up. The lady behind the counter tells us there is a train in 40 minutes and we will have to change once to get to Perpignan. Even ...
