Good location for a train traveler not too far from the old city. Good service.

As we had checked out the train stn. yesterday and purchased our tickets (8 euros) we were feeling confident all was well. Ha! Arrived 45 minutes early, just in case, to learn there were 2 trains to Verona and our ticket didn't differentiate. To make matters worse, the info booth was packed with people and the ticket sellers were no where to be …

... of the free breakfast. Up at one of the top positions of free breakfasts so far with cereal, toasts, biscuits and tea! Using the bus, which we thought was great because we didn't have to pay, we made our way to sirmione. Unsure of where to go once there we followed the crowds and ended up walking through the town which was pretty and eventually we found the beach. Had lunch in a cafe overlooking the beach. Guess what we had? Of course pizza! Although ...

The first journey to Verona was smooth and I'm glad to report there was a very efficient air conditioning ...

I don't want to leave Verona specifically because of the air conditioning. Did something really stupid. I decided to walk to the train station. I thought if I walked slowly it would be okay. Not a good idea. Very hot. I watched a bit of the Italian TV news and I think they were saying most of Europe is experiencing a heat wave. I'm counting the seconds until I board the train. AND guess what? Now that I'm on board the ...

... arrival will purchase a ticket for a performance of the Barber of Seville at the Arena. Right now I am the only person in this car and unless other people board in Milano I truly will be traveling alone. The hotel was a pleasant surprise. Hotel Mastino that we found at the last minute is only a few minutes walk to the Arena. Had to walk across the street to another part of the hotel but the room though compact was really ...
