... is very pleasant, and has some interesting bridges crossing the Garonne River.
The odd thing i have noticed here in Bordeaux is the lack of bakeries. On nearly ever corner in Lyon there was a bakery, here they seem scarce.
By late afternoon the sky greys up and it starts to rain, only lightly.

The next few days are beautiful sunny days. Wandering the streets and the river walk is very pleasant. The city has a certain buzz to ...

... into our one day here. First, we stumbled on a good coffee place. Important. So after that we just popped into a boulangerie and each got a pastry. Squeezing everything back into the cases we are good to go again early and walk down to the Plaisance Metro in 15min, 3 stops to Gare Montparnasse for TGV high speed to Bordeaux. For the second time a youngster assists with the heavy bags down a flight of stairs – reputation of Paris citizens ruined.

We settled in nicely at high speed and whistled through mostly flat countryside in sunny warm ...

... we can book and get a city map. I was keen to travel outside of the city to Limoges (home of the Limoges porcelain boxes) and Sarlat but found out that they're each at least 2.5 hours away so we wouldn't get much time to look around and would have to do Limoges on one day and Sarlat on another. Sarlat looks amazing, maybe next time. We will have to pay a visit to Marechal Limoges in Paris instead. Today, we had a very late start, heading out ...
