My best friend got married, friends got engaged, announced pregnancies, I travelled to Rarotonga and Singapore... and then made the big move to France! First day trip was to Saint Emilion, a small historical vineyard town about 45 minutes inland from Bordeaux. One ...

... jam and wondered what was going on. Later we found out that some days are just like that, particularly in August, the french holiday season.
This was a medieval city surrounded by a wall in its day. The wall has now gone, but the original area is traffic free. It is amazing, full of alleys, cobbled streets and all old buildings. The base of our building is original 13th century. We met our landlords, father and son, who own the framing business below ...

... in and hit the road. Celine the Sat Nav gave us a few interesting moments, and it seemed that the whole of Paris decided to head south on the same day as us, but about 7 hrs later we roll into our new abode "Le Moulin de Canteloupe" in Bourdeaux. I am a bit of a fan of my own internet holiday booking abilities, and this place was the first place I booked for this whole trip 12 months ago and it has been my screen saver for that whole time, so it ...
